i used 'lois gold' (on the internet) to sell my gold, great service gave me the going rate. they phone you with their offer,i got £185 for the going rate.but 'postal gold' only offered £66 ( i got them to send it back to me) so shop around on the net you can get a good deal :T

I just wanted to pass on my experience of websites, newspaper adds. to sell your unwanted gold. I sent of several broken bits, one earring etc plus a good necklace, ring and was offered £11. I got my gold back then took it to a reputable independant jeweller who tested it and then offered me £153 for the same items!:j Watch out everyone. You have been warned.
