Bit of advice plzzz

Hi all, in 2008 i filed mcol for n/wide for £1,250 , but i owe n/wide £287.27 this debt was made of bank charges so i havent paid any of it of, now this debt went to AIC debt collection sum time ago , i have had convos wiv AIC and said the account is in dispute and i wouldnt be paying anything of the debt, i gave them my case num but they keep ringing me and asking about the test case , when i think it will be over etc , so lately i have just ignored them cos i have give them all of the info i can , anyways 2 day i have recieved a letter and it goes like this lol
dear mrs gar******
we have recieved no response to our previous request for payment on the above account due to the delinquency of ur account your case is now beging considered for referral to the litigation deptment for further action however by remitting £71.82 on or before the 30th of sept neither we nor our client will pursue you any further in regars to the above account
please be advised our client is prepared to waive the remainder of your liability and amend the credit bureau in regars to this account. failure to make payment may result in further charges been added and the current offer being withdrawn.
now i have wrote to n/wide to claim f/h and hoping for a letter back 2 morrow as she told me on the phone last friday , now if i do get any money back of n/w for my f/h she said it would go into my n/wide account , now wot i wondering is i can pay this £71.82 on the 30th of sept cos its payday lol but wot im wondering is how will affect my claim thats wiv mcol cos i have put 1,250 and owe n/wide £287.27 but if i pay the 72.82 that means they have let me of wiv over £200 pounds hope that makes sense any advice would be helpful manys thanks jill

Why pay them? Tell them that chasing a debt that is clearly in dispute is against OFT debt Collection Guidelines. Furthermore, any actions for charges will be vigorously defended. To be honest, I would telling them to sue you since you will defend the ENTIRETY of the balance owed. Nationwide know the account is in dispute so them chasing it is the most ridiculous thing they can do.
Simply tell them, You have a bank charges claim for more that 3 times the amount of charges. You will NEVER deal with them while the OFT test case issues remain unresolved.

WIth Nationwide and financial hardship you need:
    ( A ) Hardship letter
    ( B ) list of charges
    ( C ) http://www.nationwide.co.uk/contact_us/request_a_leaflet/request_leaflet.htm
Second to last on the list which is an income and expenditure guide.
( D ) Notices of priority debt arrears(mortgage./rent, council tax, utilities).
    Send the above to:
    Refund of Charges Team
    Nationwide Building Society
    Kings Park Road
    Moulton Park
    Northampton
    NN3 6FB

You shouldn;t be dealing with the DCA cos it is in dispute regardless of what they say. Any hardship payout would go into the account where the charges have come from.
