I'm likely to be receiving some personal cheques (checks!) from US bank accounts. Is there a way to pay these in the UK or would it be easier to pay them into a US account and transfer them. If the latter, how and where can I (as a UK citizen) open a US bank account?
Thank-you

You can pay them into your normal sterling current account. Depending on the amounts of them, the bank may charge you for this, so it may be cheaper to open a USD account. Places like Citibank and Bank of Scotland do these types of account.0

Unless the terms have changed you used to have a balance of £2000 equivalent for it to be free.0

There is a minimum amount in the current account but not in one of the saver accounts.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »Unless the terms have changed you used to have a balance of £2000 equivalent for it to be free..0
