Ink colour question...

My black ink is running very low and i have a lot of letters to print out just now. I cant get a new black cartridge just yet, so can i use my colours to mix together to give me black? If so how do i set it up to do so?

Im using a Epson Stylus C42UX.

you could print each page 3 times, with a different colour, (over the top of each other) , expensive way of doing it though..

Technically this would be very difficult to do a you have to ensure the paper is loaded exactly the same each time to the mm otherwise mixed writing

I didn't say it would be easy. The easiest solution is to by a new cartridge.

On a c42UX it should prompt you when the black ink it too low as to whether you want to print 'black'(or as near to it as it can make it) using the colour cartridge.

The C42Ux tells you the ink is low long before it runs out, I printed at least 6-7 high quality colour dvd covers after it told me the colour ink was low.
