Hi all, some interesting reading here.
Just been battling with RBS about a 5% hike to my business credit card, not having much success, they're digging their heels in.
here's my plan, tell me if it's cunnin g or silly;
£3000 owing on business CC, can't do a transfer from it, because it's a commercial card.
£6000 available on my personal RBS card, £4500 available on my new Barclaycard, with 0% for 24 months offer.
What I'm thinking is to do a money transfer from my personal CC to my bank account for £3000, pay off the business card, then transfer the balance from my personal card to the Barclaycard and pay no interest for 2 years.
A bit convoluted maybe..good idea, or anyone see a flaw in this?0 -
Tried to jack me by 5% from 16.9% to 21.9%. I counteroffered a matching decrease on the basis that if it is OK to jack me by 5% it is OK for me to jack them by 5%. Call centre baffled and thought I was asking for an increase in credit limit. They declined so I said we can't agree a change so better leave it as it is. Transferred to retention. They agreed, so I no longer need to close the account or even clear the balance within a reasonable time. I complained about having been put to the trouble of a long phone call after an unjustified threat to jack me given there was no chance of circumstances to justify raising by 5% or putting it back down again in the space of the 30 min call. They offered £15. It is just a tryon, hoping a good percentage of punters will accept the increase as they have nowhere else to go, or close the account thus increasing the bank's liquidity to satisfy the regulator.0
