I had an 18 month contract for mobile and Broadband with 3 which ended and switched my mobile supplier. This took more than 1 phone call as they were very reluctant to give me the Mac code and kept trying to peruade me to stay
3 still kept sending me bills and I rang and said I had cancelled both contracts and switched my mobile supplier. I also pointed out that I had not had a PC for some months and had not used Broadband.
They kept saying there was no record of my cancelling the broadband contract and had checked the phone conversations and I had not specifically asked them to cancel it.
I had a couple of conversations with people in India who couldn't seem to grasp what I was saying and, as I was at work and it was taking up time I gave up in the end
3 have now passed the Broadband debt to a debt collecting agency and, if I don't pay, will let credit reference agencies know. I know it is only £28.47 but I am so annoyed with 3. I also know I will end up paying it as I don't want a bad credit against me but has anyone else had experience of this?

Always send cancellation letters in recorded delivery and that way they cant pretend they didnt recieve all the information0

I wrote to the Chief Exec at 3 explaining situation and complaining about their customer service although kept it polite and someone rang me from the Chief Exec's office. They have acepted what I've said and are cancelling the debt. I know it was only £28.47 but it was the principle that counted. So thank you and well done 30

Had this problem with Orange. We had cancelled, had a new provider and were informed they expected another months payment.
Contacted new provider who were great and advised us to contact OFTEL.
Spoke to OFTEL who gave us an Orange head office contact number and a reference number to use.
One phone call and 3 days later Orange ended up paying us.
Only started using this site a couple of months ago but it has saved me a fortune.0
