You could always do it the way that I did it - I broke my leg and my ankle so couldn't go and buy any ciggies
More seriously though you should be able to get NRT products on prescription which saves a lot of money.
Good luck to anyone trying to give up

at the prices of those products i think i'll go cold turkey
(then again I will be saving on the cigs i suppose)

Good Luck to anyone having ago.0

I think Lidl sells no-brand nicotine chewing gum or patches or something - bound to be a hell of a lot cheaper than branded stuff like Nicorette, keeping ITV running
And I've heard Allen Carr's books (despite being a bit patronising) are very good - and not much more than a single packet of cigarettes.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Poundland occasionally have the chewing gum.0

i stopped smoking 11 new years ago cant stand the smell of stale smoke, they say reformed smokers are the worst (moaners) tis tru i am!!!
but i always think there will be something that will crack me and i will start again i hope not.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D0 -
Im two years without , and several atttempts before that.
My ONLY sucessful technique was to change lifestyle completely. No pubs , no friends that smoke for the first year.I had been on zyban at the time and never even made it to the end of the first month before they went in the bin.
I can only reccomend to people that THE worst time is now , youd be better off with a months holiday somewhere different than usual lifestyle or choice.....and of course plenty of excerscise.
good luck.0 -
I gave up almost a year and half ago and I decided that I wasn't prepared to pay more money for patches etc than it actaully cost to smoke. At the end of the day its only willpower that help you suceed, you must have an incentive, it was my incentive to be around long enough to see my children and grandchildren grow up.
its particurly helpful to make lifestyle changes, i.e. I gave drinking coffee for the first few weeks (as I associated smoking with a cup of coffee) so I decided to take the extra healthy option of drinking lots of water throughout the day (its something I have continued) but I now drink coffee again (but only decaffenated)0 -
I gave up 6 weeks ago after reading the Allen Carr Easy Way To Stop Smoking, only cost me £8 and has already saved me a fortune. I know it sounds mad when I say it but I have had no cravings and I haven't missed the ciggies at all. You don't even need to buy the patches or the gum. Buy the book, for the price of two packs of ciggs it can save you a fortune and your life.
Ps I am in no way connected to the book, any publishers or book retailerssomething missing0 -
I agree Boroboyz
The book is excellent and worth anyones 8 quid, can be a bit patronising but has worked for me and also for many of my friends.Nice to save.0
