Building Survey - Typical cost on 3 bed semi?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how much it costs for a building survey (extremely detailed report) on a 3 bed semi detatched house?
Reason why I'm thinking of getting it done is because it's near a railway line and I'm afraid of the movements that may have been caused.
Cheers

Hi there,
We paid £1030 (including VAT) for a full structural survey on a semi in August. Hope that helps!
Edit - we're in the North West0 -
I'm in the Midlands and paid £465 for a homebuyers survey only, also on a 3 bed semi. I'd expect at least 50% more for a structural, more like double to be honest.0

We paid £500 for full building survey on one place (5 bed Edwardian semi) and £360 for a full building survey on another (3 bed 17C) (got a good price on the latter as they were doing another in the same area that day so it depended on them being able to get access that day) Midlands
Organised these myself, not through lender.0 -
Thanks,
I've been quoted £450 - £500 (in the north west), so looks like the quotes I've been given have been fair.0 -
Our building survey was £314 because internet site quoted that so company had to honour it!! Bargain, that was for 3 bed semi. I went on local surveyors search site0
