Help with new router please

Mum has just unistalled her sagem modem from tiscali and installed a thomson TG585v7 via ethernet cable to her desktop. It's connected and working on the wireless, because I'm using my laptop from it, but when she tries to use the desktop internet explorer, it's giving a 403 access forbidden message. Tiscali helpdesk haven't! , they've said the connection is working and have no further suggestions. All the lights on the router are lit up like a christmas tree.
Suggestions please?

    On every url or just the one her home page is set to?

    Usually wired connections "just work" so long as nobody has been screwing about with the default settings.

    Could it be a firewall problem, configure the firewall on the desktop to allow Internet explorer full access. Hth. Alan.

    Just had a play with the LAN settings, and that seems to have done the trick - I have no idea why! Thanks for the suggestions folks.
