Best free Office Suite?

Hi just wondering what people thought was the best free 'Office Suite'?

Openoffice.org? GOOGLE Docs? or any others?

What one person thinks is "best" another will have a different opinion.

Openoffice is far better featured than Google Docs, as it runs on your PC, whereas Google is a remote service run through a browser.

However with Google it's easy to share docs with other people.

Why not try them and see, as they are free!

I use OpenOffice and Google Docs. Google Docs is OK but the fucntionality is a bit limited compared to OpenOffice. If you want something to use instead of MS Office get OpenOffice, if you just want to create basic documents occassionally then Google Docs is fine.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

The OpenOffice developers are working on an online version of the suite which will work just like Google Docs. Might be a while before it comes out though.

OpenOffiice, been using it for a few years on Linux and it took a bit of getting used to initially but now I like it and can recommend it, has some great built in features such as saving to PDF format which has come in handy quite often.

One thing to be aware of with sharing google docs is that if a doc is being worked on simultaneously by 2 people it can cause issues with the autosave function not saving information.

As has been said it is down to personal opinion, OpenOffice has far more functionality but google docs is simple, quick and stored remotely making it easy to access from a different machine.
