Hello Everyone,
Me and a mate went to view a house just over a week ago, decided we liked it, but there was a bit of work that needed doing (such as lightbulbs needed adding) and the place needed a major clean.
We were hounded into paying the deposit on the day we viewed, and told that anything we had raised on teh day of the viewing would have been fixed.
When we came to move in, we were told we could only move in at 3pm, the agent arrived at 340 without the keys, and had to go back and get them; we didnt move in till 5pm. The agent then said she didnt have time to do an inventory; we werent shown how to use any appliances, and were not given any gas/electric certificates.
I tried the hot water, and found it didnt work. I rang the agency who said "leave the tap running it might take an hour" - it turns out the boiler doesn't work, but the agent culdnt be arsed helping as it was 530 on a friday.
The place needed a major clean, 5 of us spent he weekend cleaning it from top to bottom (the toilets still had urine stains all over from previous tennants, the bath wwas filthy, the plugs were rotten, the extractor fan in the kicthen is covered in grease) basically, everything we were promised has not been done.
We have someone coming to do the inventory today; I've phoned the office to ask about the lightbulbs/cleaning to be told "ive not dealt with the property so ill have to ask and call you back" - thus far i've heard nothing.
We have pictures of everything that was wrong & everythoing before we cleaned it, how do we go about giving the agents a telling off?
any advice is welcome,
Tony

All complaints should be in writing, but unless you got it in writing that the place would be cleaned before you took occupation you haven't got a leg to stand on.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
