F & C Fund cash or keep?

I have some money in the F & C FTSE 100 Tracker Fund. It has gone down over three thousand pounds in the last year and I am wondering if I should keep it or take the hit and cash it in. I took this out when I was in early 20's and am now mid 30's and a bit confused financially, any help appreciated!

    Do you need the money?

If not why take it out? Why not take it out when its high enough to you to want to withdraw it?

You say its gone down £3k over the last year, what is it now? Because over the past few months the markets have been quite good.

its would have gone up around 30% in the last few months as well.

Its a medium/high risk investment and is doing what you would expect it to do. Markets zig zag. Always have, always will. Perhaps the problem now is that you have too much in one area and you now need to diversify more and not be 100% in the awful FTSE100. Maybe have some downside protection in there as well if you cant handle the volatility.

As lokolo says, do you need the money now?
