Xbox 360 60 gb or Elite???

I am looking to buy an xbox for my son, he has asked for the 60gb one (i am completely clueless!!) there dont seem to be many about, but plenty of the elite.
Is there any reason for this ??
Is one much better than the other??

With the price drop of the Elite to £199, Microsoft are phasing out the 60GB model. You may be able to find some remaining 60GB stock if you look hard enough.

Failing that, you'll have to pay the extra money over the old 60GB price for the Elite model as the Arcade model doesn't have a hard drive.

Depending on how cynical you are, you could say it's good that Microsoft have reduced the price of the Elite, but as they're phasing out the 60GB version, they're actually making you pay more for an Xbox with a hard drive. That and the fact they've also removed the HDMI cable and audio dongle from the Elite box.
