do thr keys flip off for easy cleaning? I'm not too technical so wouldn't want to do this if it isn't easy

The little clips on the back of the keys are pretty delicate, they aren't really designed to be taken off and reattached regularly.
so I would say you are at less risk of damaging things if you take the whole keyboard off. If you gooogle "remove laptop keyboard" vaio (use the quotes) there are plenty of sites giving photo by photo instructions on how to do it (or narrated video on youtube). Here's one website on it0
