  • Starnac - sounds a bit silly doesnt it

BUT I have a recipe from an old BBC food magazine - in my recipe book which has gone walk about - I need to find it!!!!!! - which is called 'The captains favourite cake' which uses left over porridge to make an awesome chocolate cake - its a yatch recipe think cos you make it from leftover porridge and mix it all in the pot - its the kids favourite - you don't taste the porridge but it makes the cake really moist and lovely.

    Honest!

    Afternoon all,

Having a horrible day at work today and also feeling bleurgh from TOTM. Today feels like it has been 3 weeks long!

However - here are my things I have done/will do:

    - packed lunch and breakfast (both made from store cupboard)
    - charged phone at work
    - yoga class to make use of gym membership
    - dinner from freezer
    - sort out DVDs to sell
    - arranged for plasterer to come and look at kitchen
    - take mouldy wraps which I bought yesterday back to morrisons
    - NSD

We have recently moved into my OH's newly renovated house si need to get my flat rented out after the bathroom is done up. Trouble is neither of us can be motivated to start it after spending the last year renovating the house and I am starting to get a bit frustrated. Think we need to try and do one little thing on it a day...maybe I should make a plan? Might also add that to my TTD list...

Hope everyone has a good evening xx

    Afternoon all!

Focus focus focus.......been a bit manic lately!!

Elder DD fell off jungle gym at school on Friday, one trip to A&E later and we are in a sling with a possible small fracture/chip on the bone, but they cant really tell! She is not in pain, just cant do much with it, and is loving the sling :rotfl:

I have been quite dynamic in the kitchen over the last few days - been making fairy cakes and rocky road!!! Now that may not sound much to some of the professionals here, but me and baking do not go together - so for me, this is major achievement and I am very proud of myself!! :j And everyone is now having home made cakes in their packed lunches!!!

    Anywayyy, today:

    - Checked online banking :eek: (payday Friday)
    - Quidco clicks
    - Packed lunches all round (with cake ;))
    - chicken casserole in slow cooker
    - appt made to have tour of secondary school
    - ironing  grrr
    - catch up more economy gastronomy on V+ later
    - DDs to Rainbows and Guides = peace and quiet for me!

Have a good evening everyone xxx

    3. Haggled with Tesco to get cheaper car ins (I had my renewal through and it had gone up, so I checked all the comparison sites and got the cheapest quote, then I phoned Tesco and threatened to leave so they dropped my renewal price to £21 a month and are giving me a £30 Tesco giftcard and I have no deposit to pay:D)
    4. NSD as fruit/veg was budgeted for
    5. Played free scratchcard
    6. OU Coursework (cancer)
    Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini

Hi everyone. I am utterly heartbroken. Today I said goodbye to little T's lovely lovely hair ready for school and now I have a short haired grown up young man in his place. OH thinks I am mad but I am really and truly in shock!

Here is a photo to prove it!

( His hair is wet in the first pictures so looks a bit funny. It really was so so lovely!)

Haven't felt up to much DFW today as a result. Just veggies from Aldi and an afternoon out walking by the sea for free fun.

    Right, off to cry now!
