Advice Needed Please

Please could someone help me work out why my pointer moves all over the screen all by itself. I could be just sat here not touching the mouse reading an e-mail or something and the pointer just dives to one corner or another of the screen.
This has been getting worse of late. I have run malawarebytes and hijack this is normal I am just lost for ideas as to why this is happening.

What kind of a mouse are you using? Touchpad on a laptop/Wireless mouse/Corded mouse?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Is it an optical one, or does it have a ball? If it's an optical one, have you tried a different one? Or even just replaced the batteries? (If it has any that is!)Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Ok, it's an optical mouse then. Does it just not respond as it should or does it jump about even when you don't touch the mouse?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

it jumps about as i read the threads even if not touching the mouse, have cleaned the mouse and the mouse mat earlier with an air can to blow away any dust etc and cleaned the mouse mat with a wet wipe but this has been happening for a week or so just getting worse nowMoney_Grabber13579 wrote: »Ok, it's an optical mouse then. Wrong mouse or should say HID, Human Interface Device, driver selected somehow. Can the sensitivity be decreased in Control Panel. Are you using it on a shiny surface / glass.0
