OK, a techie I am not but i was told itunes is easy!
I have downloaded some podcasts from the bbc website which i have saved in my library on itunes. I am having difficulty transfering them from the library onto my ipod. I have a feeling it is something to do with the fact that they have a little "radio" icon on them but i can't work out how to get them from the library to the ipod so tha i can listen to them. It is driving me nuts!!
Any suggestions please?

Have you moved them into your library?
Alternatively, this is copied from itunes help
To change iPod podcast settings, connect your iPod, choose iTunes > Preferences, and click iPod. Click the Podcasts button, then follow the instructions below:
•
To automatically update your iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini with all the podcasts in your Podcasts playlist, select "Automatically update all podcasts."
•
To automatically update your iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini with only selected podcasts, select "Automatically update selected podcasts only," and then select the podcasts you want to copy.
•
To limit the number of episodes that are automatically copied to iPod, choose "All episodes," "Only checked episodes," "Only most recent episode," or "Only unplayed episodes" from the Update pop-up menu. If you choose "Only checked episodes," uncheck the episodes you don't want to copy in the Podcasts playlist.
•
To copy podcasts and individual podcast episodes manually from your iTunes library to your iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini, select "Manually manage podcasts." Then drag podcasts or podcast episodes from the Podcasts playlist to iPod in the Source list.
•
If you connect and update your iPod, and then add podcasts or podcast episodes to your iTunes library that you want to add to your iPod, choose File > Update iPod.0 -

From reading the BBC website, it looks as if, if you want to use itunes, you have to download them from the itunes site. If they don't appear there, you can't use them with itunes. (At least I think that's what it says - I don't seem to be doing too well with my reading ability this pm.)0

Alright i think I see what might be happening
Method 1 - via Itunes
Click Podcasts on the left of Itunes
Click Podcast directory at the bottom and then search for the shows via their directory
Method 2 - via BBC website
All official BBC podcasts are listed here
This is an example of a podcast page
You can see that there is a 'Download' link and a 'Podcast' link
If you click the 'podcast' link then can scroll down on the page it takes you to and click:
"Note: If you are an iTunes user you can add this podcast feed to your software via One click subscription"
This means you are subscribed to it and whenever there is a new episode it is automatically downloaded to the 'podcast' section of Itunes (depending on your settings - you can set in preferences if these are automatically put on Ipods).
Alternatively you can right-click the 'Download' link and 'Save target as' to put it on your computer. Then you can drag the mp3 onto itunes. It might not go into the podcast section of Itunes because you didn't subscribe - you just took an individual download.
What you can't do is drag the 'Download' link to Itunes - Itunes thinks you want to stream the file and doesn't download anything to your computer (You get a radio icon in your computer and it's really only a shortcut to the web address of the download)0 -
Thank you all for your help. Problem sorted now.
Only took OH 4 hours on the computer:rolleyes:0
