Favours aren't traditional anyway; they're quite a recent thing.
Don't think 16th century is that recent, but then maybe I'm younger than yourself.
Rene not sure re the wording is there a personal reason you are getting cancer research favours rather than another kind iykwim. Probably something along the lines of "To celebrate our special day we have donated to Cancer Research" I wouldn't mention the other things just leave them as a surprise.

Foy anyone who doesn't like rene, her posts or her threads, why don't you put her on your ignore list?

She's said before that she only uses this board and so what if she has made so many threads, she's a member and is entitled to do so.

Oh and Lydia, rene just wants to get things sorted and planned, just like a lot of women who wants things done and dusted so there is less to worry about nearer the time. We know you're not one of them, but please don't knock anyone who does go about it this way.

Well seeing as though they are getting married soon too, maybe they are deeply religious and are gagging for a shag but can't till their wedding night?:D

Okay, I briefly saw this last night but decided to sleep on what I was going to reply with, I even have the baby watching CBeebies whilst I do it!!

I'm going to guess that Quote may have been joking, just put him on your ignore list if you don't like what he says, sometimes he can be pretty funny though.

Anyway! You're getting married in 11 months time and since you joined the board only a few weeks ago, you've already started 27 new threads on the Weddings part of MSE (I'm not a stalker - all freely available to every member of MSE by checking threads started by) I'm not sure, but have you used forums before? General forum etiquette would usually discourage anyone from posting in this fashion, my only thought is to set up a 'rene2b wedding day countdown' thread, that way you could ask as many questions as you liked and other people's posts don't fall down to page 2 or 3 where they usually get unread just because you've asked 7 different questions and also prevents people like Quote making remarks such as him reporting it as spam, he may just find the amount of threads annoying - if he does, I offer the same advice as to put you on his ignore list.

I'm not being horrible, just offering a bit of advice from a long-time forum user (not this one).

    As for

Just to let you know, that's how Nazi Germany started out ;)

ok thanks for taking the time to reply
yes ive used forums befor for money saving and my business(not spamming i dont need to)befor anyone else jumps on me

im going to answer your reply like this so i can answer everything lol

I'm going to guess that Quote may have been joking:
if he is i really dont find him funny just plain nasty

and i dont really want to ignore anyone im not like that(bet i jumped on for saying this now)

  • Rene, I'm not sure on the wording honey! For my wedding we are having favours on each place setting but also bauble place names we would love everyone to take aswell! I have made a card for each table which says all the info such as

Please use the disposable cameras to take pics and leave them on the table for us to get processed afterwards
Please feel free to take your bauble place names and also your favours
Thankyou for coming to celebrate our wedding and for helping to make the day so special.

I think you should just put that you have got the pin badges as favours but there will also be a few surprises later on in the day!

at xmas i buy baubles with a removable top and also get them personalised and pop money in them for the older kids
as i dont really like just handing over money but this way its a keepsake too:D
  • They sound fab rene. I have made mine already although those would have been fantastic. I just got red baubles, stuck diamantes on them, tied some ribbon printed with our names and wedding date and then attachd that to everyones name. There's a photo on the December brides 2009 thread if you want a nosy lol!!
