Nursery school/Pre-school confusion!

DS goes to nursery 3 days per week, and has just started 2 sessions per week at a pre-school attached to a school. He will be 3 in late Dec, so he is early to start pre-school, but there is only one intake in this area now per year. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

Hi
My DD goes to a private nursery too - When she turns 3 next year we get xx hours (?) FREE at the private nursery so that pre-school (that we pay for) will in fact become her nursery (government paid for) should we want it to and any EXTRA hours we need to pay for ourselves. I have put her name down at the local nursery too and im debating which to send her too atm
I should mention that if i want dd to go to local nursery then she can still use the private one. ATM i drop her off at 7am. The private nursery will take her on a school run, and pick her back up until i collect her.0 -
That's good mommeyme. I drop DS at 8, so that would be good. I think the first thing to do would be to talk to the nursery, then look into the school linked nurseries.... So much to do for a wee one! Seems like only yesterday he was born!

Bless - my DD had her second birthday last week so i know how fast time flies!
Does it not say on your nursery website?
My nursery is linked to a tourist attraction (well its a farm!) and they take them round the farm every so often to feed the animals etc and she has learnt so much there since starting and they installed this new fantastic security system too. Its so much better than the local nursery but then i wonder if she will be better off at the local nursery because they will be the kids she will b going to junior school with - soooo confusing about what to do for the best!
Good luck with sorting everything x0 -
I'm so glad i wasn't alone in the confusion when my DS was this age.
I was working part time and he was in a private nursery, i hadn't even considered that he'd be there til school, no one told me otherwise and i assumed i'd take him out of the private nursery at 3, and send him to one of the main school nurseries for his 2.5hrs a day. So i panicked not knowing what to do, and handed in a months notice to nursery.
They called me into the office and were like 'err what are you doing?! He stays here til he's 4'
I was paying around £30 a day and asked if that would reduce due to him getting the 2.5 hrs now, and they said they'd already accounted for that when he started. Still don't understand that, they made me feel stupid and i didn't question it0
