Discdrive problem

I just bought a new Acer pc, I installed the antivirus software and the broadband software but since then the disc drive isnt registering any disc put in it..... could it be something simple like a setting that needs changing?

    Assuming it's a recent version of Windows, open Device Manager and look and see if the CD/DVD device is shown as working normally or has an error.

    If it shows an error, tell us what the error number is - it's probably the MS "upper and lower filters" bug, which is easily fixed.

    ATAPI DVD A DH16A6S

    I have a yellow triangle with exlimation mark, when i click on it and select properties it says.....
    Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (int he registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19)
