First Direct account

OK I have been reading and I am a signed-up with Quidco so if I sign up to First Direct account I should get;

1. £45 from Quidco
2. £50 from First Direct

Does anyone know what the terms are for getting all the cash?

Thanks appreciate getting these banks back! lol

    http://www.firstdirect.com/apply/bank_account.shtml:
When you apply for a Bank Account online and transfer your salary/income, we will add £50 to your account.
Joining incentives are valid for three months from the date the account is opened and will be credited within 28 days of the criteria being met. Incentives are only paid to customers who have not previously held an account with first direct and are limited to one per customer or joint account relationship.

what does this mean exactly.... and if i pay in via bank transfer (from a different bank) would this count as a salary/

    Cheers

I was wondering about this. I want to keep my existing bank account and just transfer £1000 into FD every month. I would then like to withdraw most of it back into my 'main' bank account. I could probably leave a few hundred floating in FD every month.

Anybody tried this. I know it's abusing the system, but there are worse things in life :D
  • We both want to do the same thing. Also if you apply through Quidco you get an extra £45!

So what do you reckon, also it doesn't say how much salary counts.

    So what does everyone think?

The minimum salary deposit is £1000 per month.
  • so standing order of £1000 for 3 months should be enough?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking if you can just set up standing order into FD every month instead of salary. ;)

Of course, I imagine you could have your salary go in to FD and set up standing order to wing it back to your 'proper' bank account.

I think it might be worth doing, even if salary has to go in.

OK, so their owned by HSBC, but First Direct are one of the best banks out there - most of their customers are really satisfied with them, you might find you want to stick with them.
