Late with tennant deposit scheme

Fishingtime

As I was away when my new tennant moved in to my only rented house.
The deposit was not paid in to the scheme untill after the 14 days,in which it was surposed to be paid by.
What are the implications of this?
It was paid into the scheme 3 weeks after she moved in.

My partner took the tennant round the house and the deposit.she knows less than I do lol.
The lady wanted to move in quickly as she was being kicked out by her partner,so that is why I could not be there as I was awayOwing on CC £00.00 :j

I am amazed you didn't take the deposit before the lady moved in! I would want the funds of this and the rent cleared before the move in date. You are taking a risky option not to do things properly, no matter how desperate someone is to move in. Do things in a business like manner and in the right time, and don't be hassled.
If you have already deposited it and given the tenant the relevant information from the scheme you are using, I am sure you will be fine. There are cases where LL's haven't dealt with deposits for months until found out, and still got away with it. As someone who does everything by the book I find this very unsatisfactory, as the law should be the law.
I don't think you have anything to worry about here if you have now done everything correctly.
