I would like to take my son on holiday next year in the uk he will be 7 in November this year,i was thinking of collecting vouchers from the sun for pontins, butlins etc but im probably too late i was made redundant this year so i havent got loads of cash i just would like to treat my son,i have equal custody and have him at my house for half of the week and feel that he is over due a holiday with me as his mother has taken him on a few trips i live in the midlands (leamington spa) so it would be nice if anyone knows of a resort not too far away as i dont drive so its going to have to be a coach or a train for the journey,the holiday park type of holiday never really appealed to me but i think it would be nice for a child his age,so if anyone has any ideas i would very much appreciate it.

The Sun usually do a holiday promotion beginning of January so you could look out for that one. Have you looked at the mid/north wales area?- some nice beaches and accessible from the midlands via train. There are usually loads of things to do for kids of that age at holiday parks and you might enjoy it more than you think! HTH

Im sure i will, i havent ever been in a caravan it seems like a nice little adventure its just a matter of finding the right deal i will probably take my mum along as well shes getting older and i havent been away for over 24 years myself i used to go to scotland every yr to see my grandparents with my mum and dad and brother when a young lad, my brother and father are no longer with us so it would be lovely to have a little holiday with my son and his gran to give them a treat

We stay at Butlins Skegness in a caravan, privately owned, they are very reasonable considered to Butlins prices, and some owners will give you a good deal, some wont, so shop around, theres also plenty to do at Butlins to keep the kids occupied, the caravan we stayed in has a ps2 and games and dvd movies, was good.

No problem, I hope you find the holiday that you are looking for, they really do work out alot cheaper. The way we found the caravan we stop in, in the first place is that we were recommended by a lady who has stayed with the people for a number of years as they let her pay a bit each week or monthly each year so that she has the year to pay for her holiday, not many people would let you do that, so we tried it and went and booked again for next year.
