Help with a gas meter

Hi all,

Im quite a tech geek but for some reason the technologies of daily life seem to elude me.

how do i put my pre-pay gas meter onto emergency?

there are two buttons and an LCD display.

if i press B (black button) all i get is a long beep, if i press a i get an alternation between a read out of how much im owing (even though ive not using any gas) and my current ballance with emgrcy credit available flashing.

any help would be appreciated. if you need any more info please let me know.

Emergency Credit
Once the credit on the meter reaches a certain level,
you may be offered ‘Emergency Credit’. This can be
borrowed until you can buy some more credit.
When you want to use your Emergency Credit,
insert your Gas Card into the meter. When the
Emergency Credit is offered, you can accept it by
pressing the red button.
If you use any of the Emergency Credit, you must
pay it all back before you can borrow the whole
amount again.
The amount of Emergency Credit you have used is
shown on Screen 36

If you have got no credit on the card just push the card in and wait and you should get £2.50 EMG credit.
The B button is for budgeting so that does nowt, I haven’t used one of these for a few years but that’s how they used to work.
If you have used it up then you gonna have to bum a fiver off someone.

you would have thought that if you put it in and press a for emergency credit i would have done it by accident already.... turns out i didnt lol, thanks all.
