  • Well the title says it all really - I've had quite a productive afternoon!!

It started by adding more money to my pot (Sealed Pot Challenge) - Since January I have added £10.47 to the pot. Although not bank breaking, it's a nice thought to think if I can add that every month then Christmas 2010 may have a little cash splashed!!

I've also listed some more things on Amazon Marketplace. I still have a few books on there, but I have now added some DVDs and a couple of boxsets. I was surprised to see what others had listed theirs for so I have joined them and potentially could get a few £££ if they sell. Let's hope they do!!

Is it payday yet?? Oh wait, thats 16 days away - may have tighten belt!! :)

  • Hang on one cotton picking minute!! After listing my DVDs on Amazon only two hours ago, I have sold my first one!! With the Amazon listing fees taken into account that's £12.63 winging its way to my bank!! (Not sure how much postage will be at the minute, but either way it's money I didn't have at the start of the day)

  • Well I've already cotton picked once tonight, yet I may have to do it again as I've sold another DVD!! Not as much as the previous sale (£2.45 for me) but 2 DVDs sold in one night can't be bad!!

  • I am becoming strangely obsessed with checking my email after another book sale today (sorry to bang on about it). I've also posted my items from yesterday's sales with a net profit of £12.09 (from yesterday) and an additional £4.71 (from today). Not bad going from selling stuff I haven't opened, watched or used in years! Me thinks my savings may be looking a little rosy this month! ;)

  • Two more Amazon sales ... there I have said it! I know you are all getting bored of hearing about it! I, on the other hand, am greatly enjoying checking my email to find new sales each time!! This time it was 2 DVD sales and a bank breaking (or not!) £12.10 in my account. Along with my sales from earlier today, I have just requested a transfer of £36.55 to my bank!

The great news is that with all these Amazon sales and the Tax refund, I have made around £120 since Friday - a great amount to add to the savings account! (Obviously I haven't taken in to account postage costs here, but hopefully that won't take all of it!! :) )

It is really addictive isn't it?! It's so satisfying when you do get one of those 'Item Sold' emails - even if it's just a few quid I pay it straight off the worst CC, and then it's a few quid I don't have to pay interest on anymore!

You're doing excellently, and it's been very motivating to read about your progress!

  • thanks minipoos - I've had 3 more DVD sales towards the end of this week, loving the fact that my junk is someone else's treat to themselves!

The Amazon payments are starting to reach my bank too which is almost as exciting as receiving the emails in the first place!!

  • Got £40 from Quidco on the way which I had completely forgotten about - also, they appear to have tracked something that I did not actually buy (£20 worth) - I wonder if I'll get that later in the year ;)

Scary thought today - I'm closest to my overdraft limit than any other month since starting my diary, on the plus side I have my Amazon money coming in soon - hopefully sooner rather than later!!

  • That's ok missy, sounded like you were beating yourself up a little - sometimes I need to put things into perspective: I owe money and lots of it, but at the same time I need to still live and whilst I would love to pay off the debts tomorrow - at the moment that's just impossible!

    happy Moneysaving!!
