It feels good to have a working plan for the year. Hope it all goes ok for you, will be checking in now and then to see how you're getting on (if that's ok with you!)

    Minniepoos

A working plan is great for me - especially as I've never had one before!!

Of course you can check in whenever you like, I will try to write something of interest for others rather than rambling on like I usually do! ;)

I know this is my money saving diary, but I need a place to vent my anger before I leave for the gym. As you know, I've been selling some of my xbox games on eBay and today I received the following email:

Game case is completely smashed and as no bits are in the envelope im guessing it was already broke before you put it in there. the disk has a variety of scratch's on it. i would definately not say it is in excellent condition would you?

He assumes I knew the package was damaged, when in fact it was 'like new' when I wrapped it so how it is 'smashed in' I'll never know. And as for the disk, it may well have some 'light usage' scratches but I take good care of my belongings. Finally, I never said it was 'excellent' condition - it is listed as used and states that it includes box, instructions and game. I DO feel that it was shipped in 'excellent' condition, even though I never stated that in the listing.

I am fuming!! I have already replied to the user, politely I would like to add. But how dare he question my integrity as an eBayer?! I have 192 positive feedbacks and this is the first message I have ever had that has made me react in this way!

Am I wrong? Am I completely barking? I would post a link to my item to confirm how nice it looked as there is a picture along with my description but not sure that is allowed on here.

AARRRGGGHHH!!! Oh well, off to the gym now - burn some frustrations!!

    Sorry for winging!!

Right ... I firstly need to apologise for the previous posting, I was venting anger which was not needed for this forum. My beef is with the eBayer and not the forum!!

The good news is that whilst I was driving back from the gym, not only was I exhausted (!) I also managed to think ahead to my finances for next month. The great news is that next month I'll have enough money to pay off my loan two months earlier. If things continue in this was, I WILL be able to pay it off at the end of this year - a whole year early!!

It ok to vent. That's the great thing about the forum. What is giving me courage to tackle things is realising the humanity of everyone who posts. Its these things that help push us along in our goals, just accepting that sometimes things go pear shaped and that often we do lose the plot - in your case rightly so.

Its good to see that you and your wife are tackling the debt together. Makes for a happy home:j. 19 more days to payday.........:D

  • Thanks, yeah it's great that I have kept her in the loop, although when we first met I never opened up about the amount I owed - I guess it was because she had no debts (sickening I know ;)).

18 more days until payday - and account not looking too bad if I do say so myself!! Pub night out for friends birthday Saturday, but on a budget of course!!

Not much has happened really of late ... although I am still here!

Two snow days so no work as we have had to close the school. Very interesting to see the different sides of the argument in the media and I completely understand both sides - we've closed for health and safety reasons and nothing else.

It has meant some relatively quiet days with regards to money etc. I was on the net this morning and I have found three bargain games for my xbox which will replace the three games I sold on eBay last month - I've not spent more than I made on eBay which is good.

For those following the previous posts, I've decided against buying a PS3. Although I could have afforded one with game/console sales etc. I would have then had no games etc. So I'm keeping my xbox but updating the games that I have.

A friend's birthday meal out Saturday. Probably back in work tomorrow. Not much else to report really.

    Sorry, me again!

Just done a confused.com / moneysupermarket / uswitch.com search to check my gas and electricity prices.

I'm currently with nPower and have been for the last 2 years. They have continued to come up cheapest for every search I did over the last year but I decided to ring them to find out what they could do.

Just got off the phone and by staying with them but on a different tariff will save me £50 a year for electricity and a massive £170 a year for gas!! Saving a huge £220 a year for continuing to do what I have been doing for the last 2 years!! LOVE IT!! :j

  • As part of the 'Sealed Pot' challenge, I put £5 in today which is the most I've put in in one go. Also, I've had two book sales on Amazon resulting in £4 for me.

On the whole, not a bad day!!

  • Just got back from posting my two books which I sold yesterday. I've requested a transfer from Amazon for £4.28 which will be going straight to my savings account. Speaking of savings, they are looking a little depleated at the moment because I bought (and very much enjoying) some new xbox games. Luckily, unlike previous years, these games were purchased with money made from ebay sales so although they came out of my 'savings', I had always intended to use the money for that purpose.

Not much else to report. Credit card statement due this week. It's on 0% so I know what I owe. Other than that, not much exciting happening! Gym tonight! :)

  • To add to my £4.28 from Amazon, I've just found £4.01 in my TopCashBack account that I didn't know was ready to be claimed - it's a day of £4s!!

    Added to savings!!
