Yesterday something amazing happened! My scheduled share purchase took place and for the first time EVER they ended the day in positive territory (up 82p) - this included the purchase fee, so in fact my shares rose by over £2 yesterday! Like I said, never happened before that they got into the green so quickly.
Not too much else to report. I have received by statement for my new Virgin account which I am happy with.
Tomorrow I am out on the town on a much needed night out after a stressful week at work. Won't spend too much, but will be well worth it!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Well, I've just made another lump payment to my credit card of £500 meaning my total credit card debt is now just over £1500. This is an amazing achievement based on the fact that it has halved in just two months. I even went back to previous worksheets on my spreadsheet and found that this time last year my credit card debt was around £3700.
So, through laziness (and paying off other priorities), I had only paid off £700 in 10 months, but have now paid off £1500 in two months!
Whilst looking at my old debt, I was also pleased to see the following on the spreadsheet:
Overdrafts: £2087
Credit Cards:£3724
Loans: £5932
A lot can happen in a year!!
(It's also quite funny to see how the spreadsheet developed too - I have colours and pictures now!!)

Crikey, nearly three weeks since my last update!
I've been off work ill this week so not much spending taking place
Preparing my spreadsheet for next month as it's payday this time next week. The great news is that my savings/accounts will be greater than my debt - woop woop!! Not sure I can class myself as 'debt free', but I will no longer have a net worth in the red.
More updates to follow, but need to take a headache tablet!!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Further to my update earlier (before I had to rush off with this stupid cold!), next month looks like the first month my savings and/or accounts will have more money in them compared to what I owe - in this case, one credit card. Such a great feeling - I know it's not my 'Debt Free Date' but it certainly feels like it.
In other news, my shares account that I set up just over six months ago and slowly building is only 2.75% down. I know that's a loss and you are probably reading this thinking "you idiot" however a couple of months ago it was a 13% loss, so let's just hope it keeps growing.
In other other news (!), my FTSE ISA (which is only a month old) is £2.12 up - and yes I know, it can go up as well as down, but such an early gain is a great feeling.
May not be able to post again before payday, so have a good week!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Just paid off another lump sum off my credit card - total debt on my card is now £1250, signature update to follow next week when it's PAYDAY!!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Don't you just love renewing your home insurance?! Got a quote through today from my current insurer saying my premium will be going up £10 a month. A quick uSwitch/moneysupermarket search and I find I can actually reduce my premium by almost that much each month. Phone call to current provider and they are 'seeing what they can do' - updates to follow, but I have a feeling their re-quote will be considerably less second time aroundLight Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

What a surprise - my current insurer has rung back to say they can cover me with the same premiums for the same price as I was paying last year, where did the £10 extra disappear to I wonder?!
Still going to shop around, but at least I have a more realistic option this quote around!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

PAYDAY TOMORROW!!! Yay
Spent the weekend building up my own iPhone package which I have started to put into action today. Rather than opt for a simple iPhone upgrade going straight through a provider, I have opted to buy the iPhone, sell mine (recycled of course!), upgrade tariff - or should I say downgrade?! There's a bit of Quidco in there somewhere too!! Basically, without boring anyone who is reading this it means that I have got a brand new iPhone 4 on the way and paying less a month than what I currently pay - I'm happy, even if I have gone about it in an odd way!
New signature tomorrow following pay day!Light Bulb 13/09/09: £15,061.37 Debts at their highest:

Oops! Appear to have made a balls up with my calculations and still £200 in debt - so so close, but still so far!
Not the best month for reducing the debt, but I have treated myself to a shiny new iPhone - maybe my priorities have changed, double oops!!
