Stolen Debit Card

Hi,
I checked on-line my current account with the Halifax yesterday and noticed that on 10th September there were 2 transactions which I never made, one for £50.00 and one for £658.00 to Iceland Express in Reykjavic - apparently this is an airline! I phone the Halifax immediately and they have cancelled my card. Another 2 transactions for £341.00 and £208.00 were also pending which they have put a stop to. These transactions have taken me over my overdraft limit so the Halifax have said they will reimburse whatever charges are made. Will I get my entire money back? I know a credit card is covered but these fraudulent transactions were made with my debit card. I can't afford to lose £708.00!
My card hasn't been stolen so I assume someone has managed to obtain my details from the internet.
Thanks

Or you have filled up with petrol. I hope you get it sorted pronto, Halifax should be able to find out where the transactions originated. Look back on your statement for any £1 transactions to test the cloned card or train tickets for a couple of quid. Good luck !0

Have reported this to the Police. I suggest you do so.

I haven't bought any petrol as I don't drive! There aren't any transactions for small amounts, the smallest is £50.00. I hope to get it sorted sooner rather than later although I reported it on 11th September I have heard nothing since. I have a horrible feeling I am going to have to keep pushing, I'm borrowing money off my parents until its sorted...0

Yes, I've reported the matter to the police. They suggested I re-contact the Halifax with my log number but when I did all the adviser said was that someone would be contacting me! Its been over a week since I reported it and I've heard nothing...0

If you call Telephone Banking (08457203040) between 9am and 5pm, they will be able to check the status of the case, or perhaps speak to Fraud. There is also a Fraud Customer Helpline Number that you should be able to obtain from a Telephone Banking Advisor.
It normally takes seven working days, and Fraud will contact you in writing, asking for a signature to confirm the transactions are fraudulent (I think). It's not been quite seven working days, but I would call tomorrow and ask for an update.
If the transactions are confirmed to be fraudulent you will be refunded along with any charges incurred as a direct result of the fraud.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0
