Hello
I dont want a joint account but i would like to be able to have an extra debit card.
Are there are accounts or alternatives that make this possible???
Thank you
David

why exactly? So you and a partner can share the account? breach of terms as you shouldn;t give the pin out..... but unless you have a joint account or a credit card then no, not that I know of anyway..... no reason for this, if you lose a card then you get a new one....

I want it because i let my daughter use the account. it would just be easier if i could have an extra card as i believe many of the prepaid debit cards allow???0

If you want a card for this purpose on a "normal" current account then the answer is no.aerofish999 wrote: »I want it because i let my daughter use the account. it would just be easier if i could have an extra card as i believe many of the prepaid debit cards allow???
If you currently let your daughter use the card and a fraud occurs (it does happen) then the bank have every reason to decline reimbursement as you have allowed a 3rd party to use your account.
A bad, bad, bad idea.0 -
For making ATM cash withdrawals, or for making payments for goods?aerofish999 wrote: »I want it because i let my daughter use the account.0 -
atm withdrawls really.
Ok so am i right that thinking that the prepaid cards can have an extra card easy? is there one anyone can recommend?0 -
So open up a joint savings account, such as the YBS Internet Saver or Tesco Instant Access Savings Account, and you'll both get a Link card.aerofish999 wrote: »atm withdrawls really.
More importantly, you won't create a financial association; which is what I think is preventing you from opening a joint current account with your daughter...unless she's a minor?0 -
Really? thank you Yorkshire boy.
I didnt realise that a joint savings account wouldnt have the financial association? that would be better
thanks, i will look at those0 -

LOL, I thought as much (I do the same thing, "go get me some cash out" haha)..... But just be careful cos if she was to lose it and it was used and the bank checked the atm camera and seen your daughter, you'd be a little flustered to say the least and also looking for a new bank - usually!
As YorkshireBoy says, i'd suggest you go get a joint websaver or something from HBOS which also doesn't create a link and gives a cashcard.....

The bank will only perform an address verification check - nothing else (so long as it is savings) and even if they create a link (assuming she's older than 18) then you simply get a disassociation done after you close the account (whilst it is open you do have a link).....
The other option is to open an account for her and transfer money into it, use the same bank and it will be instant.....

I don't see why the daughter doesn't get a current account for herself?0
