Safest way to remove Windows 7 beta

A friend has just bought a desktop pc with a Beta version of Windows 7 ,Build 7022 on it.

Can someone please tell me how to safely ...and easily.. remove this please. He would like to install XP onto the system.

Big thanks to anyone who can help.

    bought new or second hand?

If new they might be allowed a free upgrade to full 7 in a month

Nope, there won't be any upgrades. It's just a beta version so essentially, the computer has been bought with no operating system.

Unfortunately, you'll have to buy a new operating system at retail price, unless the computer came with a recovery disk so that you could roll back the operating system.

But I suspect that your friend has been conned into buying a computer that doesn't have a genuine operating system it.

Of course you could go down the linux route?

He'll need an XP disc, which if there is one, can just be installed over the top. It will be a clean installation and all data will be lost.

I would assuming you got a OS on disc. Just make sure computer boots from cdrom in bios put cd with OS in and select to reformat quick or full and then it will install the OS

If its a pc that a few years old should be fine running windows 7 I am running it now much better than Vista shame MS dont give it free to all Vista owners
