Where do the shortcuts point to when you open them?

When you download do you not choose where to save to?

Just do a search on the filename and it should take you to where they are being saved.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

go to internet explorer options and set the download path there.
  • When you try to click on the shortcut if it says not able to find then it might be because the original file has been deleted or it is not properly downloaded. Try downloading the file again and verify.
  • Hi, I have had this with my desktop pc, which runs on vista, but it doesn't happen on my laptop, or my wife's, which are also on vista. The desktop is a hewlett-packard, if it makes any difference.
To find my stuff on the desktop, I go to users- user name- appdata- local- virtual store and search the folders in there. Hope this helps, but I don't know why the files are sent there.
  • or else go to my documents and from there check the folder downloads.
  • I have now found that everything in AppData>roaming>microsoft>windows>recent are shortcuts

I look at Appdata properties and attributes the hidden was ticked,i have unticked it.
    totaly confused now.
