As far as I'm aware for personal use you're allowed a backup, however much these overpaid greedy industries want you to have to buy new copies every time you scratch your media.

Copyright laws vary from country to country.

I can only assume you asserted copyright on your email and they didn't want to break the law by downloading it and reading it

It is not illegal to watch the movies but it may be illegal to upload the movie lol

The 'organised crime' you speak of dont profit if anyone watches something off youtube. They can only profit if its off an actual website run by them which they actually profit from (Personally I dont know of any)
Or by them selling copied dvds or cds etc
If you were to buy a copied dvd from a car boot stall then chances are you are helping organised crime. Watching it off youtube you certainly are not
