Record from freeview,play on CD player?

Hi all

Can anyone advise please? If I record a radio programme from freeview on my dvd recorder then burn it to disk, can it be played on a normal CD player??

Are you going to record it to DVD or CD. Your DVD recorder would have to have the facility to burn audio discs and not just video discs.

I was going to record on to DVD with my dvd recorder, and playback with a dvd player hooked up to a stereo system. Would that not work? If I do it this way can it only be played back on a dvd player (i.e. if the stereo was taken out of the equation)?

My DVD recorder is a Philips dvd3300h. It can playback dvd's, audio cd's and cd-r/rw but records on to dvd+r/rw.
