Online train tickets , Query.

If I book and pay for a rail journey in advance online can I retrieve the tickets from the machine at my local station straight away, or do I have to wait until the day of travel? Thanks.:o

You used to have to wait 2 hours before you could collect them - I've certainly collected tickets on the day I booked them

I use the FGW site and they tend to take a bit longer - sometimes the next day.
But as I usually book weeks/months in advance - no problem.
  • I've done it with both Eurostar and National Express East Coast and collected them on the day I booked no problems.

    Hi,
I've done this many times, but the time I had a problem was the tickets could only be collected @ Glasgow Central Ticket machines but I was travelling from Glasgow Queen Street.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
The box drops down on the booking box & tells you if they can be collected @ your local station. Other than that I get them posted & they usally arrive within 2/3 days 1st class @ no extra charge.
