Panasonic 5 year warrantee - warning!!

Purchased a tv through our local retailer in Oct 2007, chose Panasonic because of the 5 year warrantee deal
TV went wrong about 2 months ago, dealer hasd done a 'firmware' update and needed the warranty code.
Panasonic has no record of our registration, which the shop sent.
Apparently, you have to send it off within 40 days AND IF YOU DON'T RECEIVE A REPLY within 40 days, YOU HAVE TO CHASE THEM.
They have refused to honour this warranty because of this and have also said that as the offer finished on the 31st Aug 2009 they can't change their decision.
BE WARNED!!!!

This is contradictory ! If the shop sent the registration, it is up to them to chase it up - not you.
If they didn't chase it up, they have negated your warranty with Panasonic.

Thanks for that. The dealer has said they will waive the repair cost, but I will bring up with them their lack of responsibility in not chasing this up. They did say it is not the first time it has happened with one of their customers.0
