Plasma TV problem

Have a 42 inch plasma TV and we have sound but no picture. Also when switching TV on there is a click sound as if it is switching off.
Any ideas?

Have you tried switching between different inputs. For instance, do you have RGB composite inputs as well as scart?

Try turning of the plasma and disconnecting all the cables and then connecting to a different input if possible and then turning it back on again.

The clicking noise could indicate a problem with the input switching.

Sounds like a power supply or control board fault. If its a Vestel chassis then prob main control board. They really suffer from dry joints. Try gently taping the back cover. If still under warranty give them a ring soon as!

I have to agree - I have heard about a few problems like this with plasmas.

One other thing - is the lack of picture the same for all types of input signal. For instance, is it the same for sky input, DVD input and computer input?

If so, then it must be one of the boards.

Does this mean we have to get a TV engineer to fix the problem? If not any ideas where we can get parts?
    Thanks for all your advice
