Which would give the best interest overall?
The 5yr fixed bond at Skipton for 5% [http://www.skipton.co.uk/savings_and_investments/bonds/fixed_rate_bond/disclaimeri.aspx]
Or
The 5yr fixed stepped bond at Northern Rock for 4.25% (yr 1), 4.50% (yr 2), 5% (yr 3), 5.50% (yr 4), and 6% (yr 5) [http://www.northernrock.co.uk/savings/fixed-rate-bonds/stepped-fixed-rate-bond_issue_6/]

Birmingham Midshires 5.15%.
West Bromwich have a 5.45% one.
Halifax Stepped Income Reserve has a 5.25% AER as well.0
