Any discounts available to Police Personel on Cars? ** Official Only **

Hi all,

Any Police Officers, or Police staff on here, or even any other emergency services personnel on here that have had a very good discount on a new car using your official discounts?

I have just joined the Police as a PCSO and there are a range of discounts out there for us, namely being able to get cars for a corporate price. The only thing is the discount isnt openly available to look at, and the only way of asking is to contact them, which I dont want to be doing at the moment as I know I will keep being pestered!

Were interested in a brand new Mini, Golf, Fiesta, Leon or Altea, Yaris or BMW 1 series.

Anyone had any really good discounts on any of these cars?

Matt!

  • Phone your local federation office. Vauxhall are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

  • Well a lot of the info is on the forces federation website and also our sports and social membership site, but no mention of prices, they just say " save up to 30% off ".

I do believe Vauxhall is a very very generous discount, but I dont like their cars!!! I am aware that Sytner do discounts which is basically anything from Mini to BMW to Seat and Toyota.

Ford do discounts too but I just wanted to know if anyone else on here has taken advantage of this kind of deal before?
  • Anyone?
  • I know if you're in the forces you can get the VAT ellement of the price off a new car.
  • Harvey, I had a feeling of that too. Most the discounts I have been seeing have been about £700 - £1000 knocked off list price, would make sense about the VAT thing.

I would be interested if there would be any room to haggle on this too.

VAT free cars for the forces is only for cars bought to be used in conjunction with overseas postings.
