Im after a Firewire lead for my Camcorder i bought (JVC GRD240EK). I am looking for one relatively cheap. Is it easy to transform movies from a camcorder to my pc then onto a dvd disc?
Any help, suggestions or good sites to look at would be great. I have googled, but all im getting is in depth detail for "techie minded" peeps

These cables are also called IEEE-1394 (I think firewire may be the name Apple gave it, if my memory is correct). It is most likely that you need a 6 pin to 4 pin version, but there are variations so get a good look at the picture before you buy. Compare the small end to your camcorder and then check you have a firewire port on your computer for the larger end. Your best bet is probably ebay as many online retailers still charge £5+ for courier delivery even for such a small item. Here's an example of a typical camcorder firewire lead.
I used my brother's JVC DV camcorder recently and it was very easy. As soon as I connected it to the PC I was given the option to transfer video and it was all relatively simple after that.0 -
Here's some pictures os firewire ports for the cable I linked to in the previous post:
On your computer bottom right of the page. Then on your camcorder it is probably this 4-pin port0
