Replacing lock in UPVC door - We lost the key!

Options
Dear all,

I'm hoping someone can help here - we have a upvc external door in our kitchen and we (by we I mean Mrs Vonfluff :) ) have lost the key to it. The door is currently locked in place.

I was hoping that someone could give me some pointers on the best course of action? The lock says ISEO on it and the locking mechanism has a centre latch and 2 roller cams. (I just looked that up on the internet).

Do we have to replace the door? Could a locksmith just replace the lock? How much would that cost?

If anyone could give us an pointers or ideas on cost - I would be really grateful.

Cheers,

J

    Hi,

You can look around the internet to find out how to open the lock but I would call a locksmith as your lock is anti pick anti drill, so you may do more damage to the locking strip on the door. it will be around the £60 mark for a locksmith to unlock it and replace it.
  • I'd also ask him to fit some kind of anti-jemmy device or consider a new lock strip as a latch and two roller lock is very basic and not the most secure
