Vista shutdown

Why does it take so long for my Laptop running Vista to shutdown? I'm sure that Microsoft had cured it, but since installing SP2 it seems to have gone back to the long drawn out shutdowns. Anybody else experience this?
A problem shared is a problem multiplied.

Do you have a lot of programs running, maybe its trying to shut them down.
Occasionaly on Vista mine wont shut down at all just hangs on the shutting down screen i just have to press my off button on my pc to turn it off.0
