Unsettled CCJs can I get mortgage

No don't start contacting them all again. That really will stir up trouble for you.
As far as I'm aware all the ccj's will drop of your file after 6 years, and the companies can no longer chase you for it as it's statute barred also after 6 years.
If I was you I'd just bite the bullet and order a copy from Experian and Equifax.. it may not be as bad as you think... and after 7 years of not hearing from them I'd certainly ( if it was me ) be very wary about contacting them all and stirring up trouble. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
As I said before unpaid CCJs do not become statute barred after six years, they can be re-registered on a credit record and chased up forever!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Okay, I took everyones advice and bit bullet and took a look at my credit files with Experian & Equifax. OMG!! Turns out I do NOT have any CCJs, just one default for £33.00!! I have paid off the money owed so hopefully the file will be updated to show the default has been settled.
My credit rating though is VERY low 300!! How can I remedy this? Any suggestions and how bad is this in terms of appying for a mortgage? Any advise would be really really appreciated.2010 Quidco Cashback = £255.00

Are you on the electoral register?
Do you have a credit card that you can put small things on and clear each month?
Do you have a deposit saved?I am a Mortgage Adviser

Hi Mrs Bumble
Thanks for replying.
To answer your questions, yes I am on the electoral register but do not have any credit cards, and yes I have £20k deposit.
what do you reckon, my credit rating with both credit agencies is 'poor'2010 Quidco Cashback = £255.00

Not all lenders lend purely on credit score.
What sort of house price are you looking at? Income?
I would say to take your credit files to a good, whole of market mortgage broker
