Years ago when I was still ashamed by proxy of my OH debts, a DCA sent all my neighbours (I lived in a flat) letters asking if they knew where he was. I decided there & then it was not my problem & told everyone the truth about his problems. I found that they were all supportive & if debt collectors turned up they would say they had never heard of him or that he had left years ago.

Oh bless you, that's a horrible, petty and mean minded way to behave. You are not a whimp, how you feel is how you feel. I think that til I discovered this forum I was ashamed of getting into debt, but coming on here has made me realise I am not the only one and that some people are coping with very difficult situations. I got into debt as a single mum who's ex husband just refused point blank to pay child support and I really stuggled. Anyway Heavensent I just wanted to say that hold your head up, you have nothing to be ashamed of, and you will come through this
