Sharm airport is really expensive and stuff is priced in US$. I was there on Monday and paid about £20 for 2 boxes of sweets. There is a duty free shop in Naama you can go to within 48 hours of arriving there. I don't buy tobacco or fags so don't know if it's cheaper.

might be better off in the UK duty free shops

  • Thanks for that, but why do you have to go within 48 hours of arriving? Will make sure don't buy anything at the airport. Is it true that you get a better rate of exchange for your money out there and you should take English sterling to change.
  • cigs are v expensive so I switched to Camels.
  • Hi, I was in Egypt last year and found that the super market near our hotel was the best place to go. It was like a mini Asda, not the little corner shops that where everywhere as they sell alot of fakes. Anyway we bought L&Ms at £4.70 for 200!!!!, guess they wil be about £5.00 now as the exchange rates not as good. We where at the Coral Sea Resort and the super market was only 2 mins from us. Hope thats some help.
