I hate this to be my 1st post on her ebut Ivrytwr3 and I Quote
Please rememebr Debt-Free Wannabee's for support and help not judgement
It is the top of this whole forum thread. Either get with the thread or troll somewhere else please. I am in debt, I don't want to shirk my responsibilities but people do have valid reasons to get into debt but can't always climb out very easily.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. i'm not having a go or passing judgement. I am just saying there are no quick fixes to debt. Signing up to these companies that offer to cut your debt are not the option!!0

Omg, I didn't come here looking for arguments, I came here looking for advice! I did not ask for a quick fix to debt. I simply put forward my situation for two reasons.
One reason being my initial scenario regarding said 'advisor' and company. Second reason being that hopefully someone looking for advice would not fall into this trap I have, if they have indeed contemplated this course of action.
I'm not proud to admit it, but I got suckered into false promises. I'm not asking for quick fixes or anything of the likes. I tried to take 'responsibility' for my apparent past spending by doing the means I have already tried. I now realise doing it yourself is most likely the best course of action, hence my visit here.
If you had read thoroughly my original post, you'd realise I did not sign up to the company in question which I believe have taken me for a ride. They 'attached' themselves to an agreement I was led to believe would allow me a better chance of a consolidation loan to lower my outgoings in order for me to afford my essentials, not luxuries.
I'm saying no more on the matter. I'm in debt, I tried to help myself but unwillingly got ripped off in the process. I have learned my lesson. My priorities were correct, my approach and solution was not.
Instead of the "told you so's", it would nice for some constructive advise...and/or criticism! The simple "take responsibilty for your past spending" would not cut it for a lot of people visiting this site.
Much thanks to other posters replying to my query. I'm quite exhausted now, and shall update and offer more information tomorrow.0 -
no wonder you got sucked into signing things and then have no idea why you are in a further mess.
Forums are places where words can be taken out of context, you see what you want to see. I am not sitting at my pc, pointing and laughing at the woman who tried to wipe her debt with Carol Vorderman, i completely symapthise.
I AM NOT JUDGING, people make mistakes, if anything this serves as a warning to others. Good luck for the future.
Now take a deep breath................0 -

I think you've been incredibly rude. She didn't say anything about looking for a quick fix. She made it clear that the debt is down to personal reasons (and she is well within her rights not to state what they are). It's also quite clear that she was trying to deal with her situation in a responsible manner, it didn't turn out the way she hoped but hindsight is a wonderful thing.0 -
Hindsight? You don't need hindsight. I wouldn't have gone to an external agency in the first place.
Now, i'm ducking out of this thread as obviously my comments have detracted from the OP's initial request for help.0 -
we once received a bill after changing our life insurance policy, we ignored it to see if they would write again and they never did, so check if you actually need to pay0

Good for you for being so clever.
Sorry OP, I hope you're not feeling too disheartened after reading some of these comments.0
