Paying towards cash back for car insurance
PME
I've noticed that for a certain car insurance company if I go through two of the well known cashback sites (will be checking others) I get a quote higher than just going to the insurers website,
So straight through teh website the quotes say £400
Through one cash back site offering £65 its £453.67
Through second site offering £60 its £445.00
So if I am lucky and the cashback clears I might be able to knock £15 off the price going straight through the website.
I'm posting this because it annoys me they are advertising £65/£60 cash back when at the end of the day you will only be saving £15 at most.
Last year the insurer I picked the cash back was deducted from the basic price, no hiked price to cover part of the cost of it.
I am wondering if anyone else has picked up on phemenon?

They are offering cash back but some of the Insurers chose to increase their premiums for business that comes through the cash back site.
As Quinten quite rightly points out there is no guarantee the cashback will come through so you should look at it as a bonus if it does.
Have you tried other cash back sites to see if they have similar increases in price (Remember to clear your cookies inbetween cashback sites)0
