Virgin profiting from the postal strike.

Today I finally received my bill from Virgin for September, which includes a £10 charge for non-payment of my August bill which I have still not received due to the postal problems (my local sorting office is Mount Pleasant, the largest of it's kind in europe). Virgin had also previously stopped my e-billing account for no known reason which meant I was unable to make payment that way (even when they did get it working again they misspelled my surname again, never having got it right in all these years! Leaving me to guess my own name when logging details?!?!) . I usually wait for my bill and then use PayPoint using the bar code on the paper bill, as I have no bank accounts. The operate I spoke to said that it was 'unusual' for me not to have received my bill despite all the media coverage of the Royal Mails' 2m letter backlog.
I have been seriously disappointed with Virgins' ever declining level of customer service and after 9yrs with the same service (Cable London through to Telewest and finally Virgin) have finally decided to leave them.
I reckon I would have had a better chance of receiving the bill if I were dead!
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

what's wrong with paying anyway, using the payment details on the previous bill, and guessing the amount with a quid or two to spare?0

Pay by DD and then you won't have the issue.
However cable bills are always late, that's why we switched to eBilling, as the postal service VM use are terribly slow at passing them on to Royal Mail for the final delivery. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
if you have no bank account then how did you pay via E billing?0
