BT - you REALLY need to train your staff better!

Hmmm - Even though I'm on the Telephone preference service it seems this doesn't apply to BT.

Had a phone call today purporting to be from BT. Having recently gone over to unlimited calls anytime I was VERY upset to be told that set-up fees for ALL calls were going up in October to 9p per call.

I asked if this applied to the unlimited calls anytime package & was assured "YES, it does". The lady then asked if I wanted to renew my 12 month call package. STRANGE as I'd just gone onto this package on 1st September?? I said "NO - I don't & I really think BT should be able to do this - they have to be breaking the contract?" Lady was unable to answer ANY points put to her - I guess English wasn't her first language!

OK I have spent 1hr today trying to sort out if this was a call from another company (slamming me?) & whether I have actually just cancelled my BT contract. Turns out the call was from BT, it appears that the 9p call set-up charge just relates to the basic BT packages outside the free calls anytime or weekend. It doen't look like I managed to cancel my BT package either. ALL THIS HASSLE because BT doesn't train its staff properly & insists on using offshore companies whose grasp of English is POOR!

As a homeshoring teleworker - WHEN oh WHEN will BT get it's act together & offer us all the service we need IN THIS COUNTRY?

Really p....d off at this!

Well, lets not forget Britain's very intimate and questionable history with India...
Try to imagine nothing ever existed...
