Somebozo, i am not talking serious physical assault here, although in the eyes of the law it prob could be classed as assault. he has been pushed and shoved against walls, and been told that "i will punch ya lights out" been called a "short arsed specky 4 eyed c**t". when this one occured is when he put in the grievance and was told by the management that it was said in fun, in a future confrontation he lost his rag and called the person who tried to run him over with a fork lift truck a "spaz" for which he was called into the office and given a verbal warning!!
oldernotwiser, oh believe me i'm trying. im hoping that the job im moving to is going to be able to offer me more hours but even if i get more hours minimum wage is still not much use.
atomic sheep... he works in a warehouse overnight. there are about 8 co workers and 2/3 managers there on a night (out of these people he gets on well with most of them but a small selection have taken to these bullying tactics)0 -
Op if your dh is being psysically [pushed against the wall] or verbal assulted and threatened his employer should be taking this seriously. You should contact the police and as I have suggested preivously keep a diary of an incidents.
You need to contact ACAS asap, but I would have thought if he feels his personally safety is threatened perhaps he could go for constructive dismissal but he needs to talk to ACAS beforehand.
Constructive dismissal
Constructive dismissal occurs if you resign because your employer breaches the employment contract, by taking action such as cutting your pay, changing your working conditions, and so on, and so makes it impossible for you to continue working.
Is very difficult to make a claim for constructive dismissal, and if you think it is impossible for you to carry on working you should seek help from an experienced adviser immediately, for example, at a Citizens Advice Bureau. To search for details of your nearest CAB, including those that can give advice by email, click on
nearest CAB. This is because there is a time limit from the date of dismissal within which you must make a claim.

Another one reccomending ACAS-we have had experience of their Legal advisors and they were fantastic helping to formulate a letter to head office with relevant Law etc in. The business may be less likely to sweep this under the carpet if they realise your dh is serious-has anyone else witnessed anything that could act as a witness? I feel for him as I have been in a position where I was bullied and I have never felt so miserable and desperate.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
