kids bank account - question about trustee please

My two have had an account with halifax since birth, with me as trustee. Ex-H has recently decided he wants to be trustee too, which I refused.

He's now asked for their birth certificates to open them a new account each (he already opened an account each for the CTF, but apparently that's not good enough, with him as trustee)

Is there any chance that Halifax would let him add himself as trustee, as he's in possession of the birth certificates, without contacting me?

I don't think they will add him on as a trustee but if he has birth certificates and stuff why does he not just open a new accounts for them both and become trustees of this?

Absolutely no chance. Halifax do not let you add names to savings accounts, so the only way that you can both hold the account in trust is for you to jointly open a new one. This would require both of your signatures.

He cannot possibly have any access to the money in the account you hold for your children without your authorisation.
